Whats up people!

After a good 9-year hiatus, I am finally back. My name is Colin, a true blue Singaporean who decided to embark on a new journey in Hong Kong back in 2017. Graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), I started my first full time job at Jefferies as a Quantitative Research Associate. I have left Jefferies since then, but have continued pursuing my passion of investing/trading/gambling in the stock market.

Why this blog then?

Because I have too much time and needed a space to vent. Just kidding. 
What started out as a small passion project of Economics, Investment and Travelling turned into a personal blog just for 1 thing and 1 thing only.

To document my journey to 1 million USD for my portfolio. That’s all. 

Why the name baatbaakman?

Because it means 8 million in cantonese.
