Belgium
Brussels
Home to the headquarters of the European Union (EU) and Belgium’s capital, Brussels was one of our stop during our Europe trip. I don’t recall much of Brussels except the fact that our hotel was so far away from the city we had to take a RAIL there. Fortunately, the place that we stayed in, Shelter Studio was just what we needed to get away from the city area. Shelter Studio, unlike any other hostel is a house turned into a hostel for travellers. That said, it gives out a very homely feeling. Although if you stay there, I definitely wouldn’t recommend trying their Asian restaurants because well, trust me, you can cook better. Apart from that, the peaceful neighborhood just makes you want to live there.

Bruges
If you ever travel to Belgium without going to Bruges, you’ll bang your head and drown in tears of regret. An alternative to Venice, people often call Bruges the “Venice of Belgium”. Stopped for a day, Bruges was breathtaking. The integration of the river, the bridges and the beautifully compacted buildings made it seem like a wonderland for adults.

Also known for its truffle fries, Bruges boasts a variety of dessert-food giving it a reputation as a food haven. Needless to say, the Belgium Chocolate that are sold here are 100% authentic. Not to forget, if you ever come down here do try the hot chocolate. An unconventional way deviating from the normal Hershey chocolate cream, the Bruges hot chocolate consist of melting the authentic Belgium chocolate in the steamed milk. It’s definitely by far the best hot chocolate I’ve tasted in my entire life (not kidding).
All in all, if you’re the type of person who would freak out gaining a kilogram of weight, you’d better not visit Bruges. You’ll end up cringing upon seeing your friend munching on delicious truffle fries and sipping on awfully hot chocolate. Otherwise, you’re good to go. Bruges would definitely be the place for you.
